Job description

Do you want to be part of developing the power tools of the future?
We are now looking for a Development Engineer, Mechanics to join our team in Jeppo.

You will work with mechanical design and be a key contributor throughout the entire product development process. Your work will begin with concept exploration, prototype building, and testing, and continue through further development of solutions all the way until an innovative, functional, and high‑quality product is successfully brought to market. Together with your team, you will actively contribute to shaping future Power Tools solutions.

You will collaborate closely with our development team, which includes experts in electronics, embedded software, materials technology and design. In addition, you will work together with other Mirka teams as well as external suppliers.

We are looking for a person with strong internal motivation and the ability to take responsibility for driving work forward. You enjoy working independently but are also a team player who contributes to shared success. You have an innovative and open mindset, work in a structured manner, and possess strong problem‑solving skills. Hands‑on experience with tools is considered an advantage, as is a good understanding of functional and user‑friendly solutions.

Job requirements

Qualifications

We would like you to have several of the following skills and qualifications:

  • Technical degree (B.Sc. or higher)

  • CAD skills, primarily in SolidWorks

  • Strong problem‑solving abilities

  • Experience in mechanical and plastic design

  • Hands‑on experience in using tools

  • Ability to interpret and apply standards

  • Knowledge of mechanical analysis

  • Understanding of electromechanics

  • Language skills in Swedish or Finnish, as well as English
