Job description

Are you an experienced legal professional with a strong background in commercial and corporate law, contracts, and compliance? We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in our Head Quarters in Jepua, Finland. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring legal excellence across our global operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including Sales/Purchase, Service contracts and governance.

  • Provide legal guidance on Mergers & Acquisitions transactions, due diligence processes, and post-merger integration.

  • Ensure compliance with national and international laws and regulations. Also ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, including GDPR and other relevant laws.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally on corporate governance, supporting board matters and other compliance and operational matters.

  • Support our global network of daughter companies in their legal affairs, to ensure local compliance.

  • Advise on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) matters, including patents and trademarks.

  • Develop and implement internal policies and best practices to mitigate risks.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, finance, human resources and operations teams.

  • Create and present training material (eLearning) internally on variety of issues if needed.

  • Manage and support external legal counsel network when necessary.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Law.

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally in the manufacturing or industrial sector.

  • Proven expertise in contract negotiations, M&A, compliance and corporate governance.

  • Strong understanding of Finnish and EU laws affecting the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent in Swedish/Finnish and English.

  • International experience is considered as an asset.
